Panama City 2026 plates. January to July months can pick up now (about B/.10 delivery)

This how-to is for the capital district / Alcaldía de Panamá only—not a national rule for other municipalities. If you own a car or motorcycle registered in Panama City’s capital district, the municipal plate cycle for 2026 has a concrete to-do this week: check whether your month is already available for pickup.

On 25 September 2026, Telemetro reported that the Alcaldía de Panamá says owners whose plates correspond to January through July 2026 can already collect their plate and calcomanía (sticker), provided they meet the checklist. That expands an earlier 22 September MUPA notice that had announced availability for January–June at the plate center in Parque Francisco Arias Paredes, Calidonia. Prefer Telemetro’s January–July line as the 25 September update; if your month is July, double-check status online before you queue.

Checklist before you go

Telemetro (citing the Alcaldía) says you need:

  • Plate tax paid for the period.
  • Municipal paz y salvo.
  • Current revisado vehicular (vehicle inspection).
  • Owner’s cédula or passport at pickup.

If someone else picks up for you: a simple authorization letter plus a copy of the owner’s ID.

Where and when

  • Collect at the plate delivery center / Centro de Atención al Contribuyente you previously selected in the process.
  • MUPA’s Calidonia plate-center hours (from the 22 Sep notice): Monday–Friday 7:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., Saturday 7:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
  • Check readiness online: Plate status for delivery

Delivery instead of the line

Telemetro says home delivery is available for B/.10.00. Older MUPA pages historically quoted different delivery fees (e.g. promotional $12 / regular $20 in a 2020 notice)—treat B/.10 as the September 2026 Telemetro figure and confirm the fee inside Alcaldía Digital when you request delivery. This service is aimed at capital-district contributors; other districts have their own municipalities.

Bottom line for expats: if your plate month is Jan–Jul and you drive in the capital district, clear paz y salvo + revisado, then either hit Calidonia on a weekday/Saturday morning or pay the delivery fee—before a forgotten sticker turns into a traffic stop headache.

Based on MUPA (22 Sep) and Telemetro (25 Sep). Confirm current fee and month availability in Alcaldía Digital the day you act.
