You can now show your Migración residency card from your phone
Panama’s National Migration Service (SNM) says foreign residents can now view their migratory carné in digital form through Migración en Línea. The on-screen card includes a QR code for authenticity checks. SNM stresses the digital carné cannot be downloaded — you must log in again each time you need to show it.
How to open it: migracion.gob.pa → Migración en Línea → Solicitudes → Carné Digital → open “Carné Migratorio.”
If a banner or warning appears on the digital document, residents must visit SNM’s main headquarters for a free biometric update.
What it means for daily life: Day-to-day proof of status for banks, landlords, and checks gets easier on a phone — unless a warning banner means you need an in-person biometric update first. The physical carné is not abolished.
