I have great experience with Credicorp. They have an office on Calle 50, and upstairs is for private banking and expats. They provided great English-speaking service and I'm a happy client!

I would not name one bank as ideal for every expat. Requirements shift, and compliance teams care about your income source documentation.

Practical path that has worked for several people I have advised:

1) Bring passport, second ID, proof of address, and clear evidence of funds or employment/contracts.

2) Expect in-person appointments. Cold walk-ins rarely finish the same day.

3) Credicorp, Multibank, and BAC are commonly mentioned by newcomers, but ask your attorney which branch currently onboards foreigners smoothly.

4) Watch for anyone promising a guaranteed account for a fee with no paperwork. That is a red flag.

I am not a bank employee and this is not legal advice. Confirm current requirements directly with the bank and your lawyer before you fly in with only a passport.
